BASKETBALL CAMP
back to school camp sept 17'
This camp marked our third (first camp not pictured) FREE Hoops Showdown basketball camp for inner city kids. Returning to Bronx River Community Center, the camp featured student-athletes both male and female grades 6th-12th. Former professional player Jason Wallace spoke to the kids on the importance of health, basketball and most importantly, education. The skills camp was run by our founder, Johnny Rodriguez, Kyheem Taylor, Chris Salgado, Brandon Matthews and Jason Wallace. At the conclusion of the camp we handed out over 80 book bags full of school supplies and magazines donated by SLAM Magazine. We'd like to thank everyone who donated, participated and came out to help make this event a success. HSD CAMP FEB' 2017
On February 25th, Hoops Showdown put together a FREE basketball camp for inner city kids. The camp was held at Bronx River Community Center and housed student-athletes both male and female grades 7-12th. The day featured speeches from high school/college coaches as well former professional players and developmental skills. They all expressed the importance of grades, mental and physical health. Our goal here at Hoops Showdown is to provide our students with a safe haven where they can learn the game and the educational grade level it will take to play at the next level. We'd like to thank everyone who pitched in especially Khris Wilson for donating his time to shoot these photos below.
